I’ve Been A Little MIA

Whoa, I haven’t written a blog post since July. Admitting that makes me feel guilty because I pride myself on my consistency. As I write that, there's this sweet voice in my head telling me, “don’t be ashamed of your priorities.” The two months I missed writing blog posts were months of chaos, joy and re-prioritizing. August is the biggest month for our family. We celebrate my oldest son’s birthday, our dog turned nine and we celebrated our nine year wedding anniversary. Then September marked the start of Kindergarten—spoiler alert—I was an emotional wreck.

While my oldest attends school EVERYDAY (tears), we decided to keep our middle at home with me this year. Logistics of getting him to and from school around the third’s nap schedule. My head was spinning all summer trying to configure a schedule. So far this fall, I’m homeschooling a 3 year old, I joined a running group for moms, I’m in four book clubs and two Bible studies. I am busy but feeling fulfilled. I’ve even started waking up at 6 am to get my workouts done before the kids wake up. Oh, did I mention Ryan’s getting out of the Marine Corps in 8 months?

Because I’m in a routine over-haul, I’m trying to figure out how to balance my social media and blogging business. Social media has changed so much over the past two years that I am still finding my “niche” as my life keeps evolving. What I guess I’m trying to say is bear with me. I have some new things in the works, which I can’t wait to share with you all soon. Good things are coming. Changes are coming!
