Cookbook Series: Favorite Magnolia Table Recipes

Lately, I’ve been bored with the meals I cook for my family. I noticed my stack of cookbooks gathering dust and decided to make a change. Each week I am picking 3 recipes from a cookbook. I have to say this challenge is really fun for me. I still claim to be an insecure average chef but my confidence is increasing. I am working my way through the Magnolia Table Volume 1 and Volume 2 cookbooks. Below are the recipes my family has asked me to make again. I won’t share the full recipe due to copyright. I will, however, tell you which book and on what page you will find it. I linked a few I could find online. I hope your family enjoys these recipes as much as we did. I still have a more recipes to try in these books, so look out for a part 2. Get yourself copies. Then let me know your favorite meals!

If you already love these cookbooks, comment below the next recipe I should make!

Magnolia Table: Volume One

JoJo’s Biscuits (pg. 18)

This is a simple recipe for versatile biscuits. My only suggestion is make sure you have a plan for all the biscuits (strawberry shortcake or sausage & gravy), otherwise you will be eating biscuits for days.

Sausage & Hash Brown Casserole (pg. 33)

I made this for Easter Sunday brunch, thinking we would have leftovers for the week. I was wrong. Everyone loved it, including Griffin. Next time, I’m making two casseroles.

Overnight French Toast (pg. 41)

I make this recipe with my mom whenever she visits. It’s Ryan’s first request when she comes to town. It tastes even better the next day as leftovers.

After-school Banana Bread (pg. 69)

Each week, I start hoping we will have overripe bananas to make this recipe. I don’t typically like banana bread (I find it too musy/heavily banana flavored). This recipe is so moist (hate that word) and flavorful. My boys love it with a cup of chocolate chips added to the batter. This is definitely a montly staple.

Curry Chicken Salad (pg. 79)

This is the perfect Sunday afternoon lunch. Grab a rotisserie chicken when you’re at the grocery store next. It’s flavorful and tastes even better as leftovers during the week. We serve ours on King Hawaiian rolls.

Almond Chicken Tenderloins (pg. 211)

So gooooooddd. It’s grown up chicken tenders…even though my kids still demanded Chick-fil-A sauce with it. I personally loved the lemony almond sauce that goes on top. We served it with quinoa. Again, it was so good we only had enough for one leftover. meal.

Magnolia Table: Volume Two

Orecchiette Pancetta (pg. 199)

My tip is add more bacon. This is a feel good “grown-up-ish” cheesy pasta recipe. It was 13 month old approved too. It was great because besides having to plan ahead and get the orecchiette pasta (I’m sure you can use any pasta), I had all the other ingredients already in my house.

Chicken Florentine (pg. 225)

Hands down my favorite recipe in this book. It’s fancy yet simple. I will definitely make this one for guest. My toddlers also loved it. I paired with with toasted Naan bread. It was so delicious. I’m admittedly drooling thinking about this one.

Strawberry Pie (pg. 297)

After returning home from strawberry picking with $20 worth, I needed a recipe to reduce our load. While this one tasted delicious, I wasn’t sold on the consistency. It was too wet? I used the *tip to make a firmer filling by freezing. I liked that better. It made the pie more of an ice-cream pie.
